Breastfeeding is an intimate and natural part of the motherhood experience. Many women breastfeed in public despite the scornful eyes of some members of society, but there has been a lot of debate as to whether or not to use a nursing cover when doing so. Abby Theuring of the Badass Breastfeeder believes this is entirely an issue of personal choice.
Some mothers feed their babies without covering up, and they have their reasons for doing so. Maybe they want to actively fight against oppression, or maybe they just don’t want another thing to carry around in an already overloaded baby bag.
Other mothers prefer covering, and they have their own reasons as well. Maybe they don’t want to deal with dirty looks or potential confrontations, or maybe they like having a special blanket that adds extra intimacy to the breastfeeding experience.
The choice of whether or not to cover while breastfeeding is yours to make, and yours alone!
