Probably the biggest thing to consider is it’s okay to ask for help. You’re going to be overwhelmed. When people come over, you don’t have to entertain. In fact, make it a rule that when people come to see the baby, they do a chore for you. It might feel weird to ask, but it will make your life easier! On that same note, consider hiring a responsible teenager to help you around the house a couple times a week.
Don’t feel guilty about doing little “forbidden” conveniences for a while. Use plastic single-use tableware, and if cloth diapering feels like a major task at first, you can use disposables for a while and switch later.
