Science is Great, Detects Placental Problems in 1st Trimester

The placenta is one of the most important parts of a woman’s body during pregnancy. It’s what provides their baby with a means to get blood and nutrients, and if the placenta isn’t operating at peak efficiency, that could result in everything from growth restriction to stillbirth.

Just recently however, doctors have become able to identify, within the first trimester, whether an expectant mother is having any such difficulties. This is a huge step forward, and gives mothers and doctors time to solve the problem.
