5 things I wish I’d been warned about when I was pregnant with twins

A mother of twins tells her experience with pregnancy. She didn’t know anyone personally who had twins, so she researched online and through friends of family members. Though she had already had two children, she was hungry for information. She received many tips, often unhelpful or frightening, but she wished she had been told that their heads might be misshapen. One of her babies head’s was squished, but rounded out after a few hours.

Key Takeaways:

  • After I had been told I was having twins, announced it to our family and I had finally convinced all of them that “no, this wasn’t a joke,” I began learning as much as I could.
  • I didn’t have anyone in my inner circle who had multiples, so when it was my turn I felt pretty alone.
  • I never really felt like I was able to properly prepare myself like I had with my two previous children. I was in unknown territory and just soaking up every story and fact that I could.

“Because every multiples pregnancy, birth and life experience is wildly different from each other, I never really felt like I was able to properly prepare myself like I had with my two previous children. I was in unknown territory and just soaking up every story and fact that I could.”
