A two-year old child had difficulty transitioning from a toddler setting to the preschool group. He was younger than his peers in the same grade level so he transitioned later than they did. At first everything seemed to work out, but soon the little boy became unhappy, wanting to go back to the toddler room. For a while, the teachers let him go to the toddler room for part of the day. However, they eventually felt this was holding him back and so they kept him in preschool. The key to adjusting to this new situation was giving him time.
