We all want what’s best for our kids and try to raise them “the right way.” There are many domestic roles to fill once you become a parent, and it’s easy to feel like you’re in competition with other parents who seem to have everything together. Surprisingly, a recent survey showed that Millennial dads are actually more likely than Millennial moms to seek perfection in parenting.
This article from The Baby Center discusses how parenting roles have changed. Dads still feel the need to be providers to their families even though many moms are holding full time jobs. Even though dads still usually place financial security as their highest priority, they’re still making time for their family.
Dads want to maintain their head of the family role while also being present and caring for their family, essentially doing it all. This has led many dads to leave other personal priorities lower on the list, including exercise, personal time, and time with friends.
