There is something empowering about embracing the body that motherhood gave you. The stretch marks and loose skin are a symbol of the life you created, and that is something beautiful to be proud of. Every summer, moms post pictures and videos of themselves in bathing suits in hopes of normalizing stretch marks and other aspects of the post-baby body. This is about more than just normalization—this is about physical comfort.
It’s mid-July and everyone is HOT. The temperature and the humidity seem to be climbing with no end in sight. Blogger Theresa Edwards from SheKnows has always been self conscious about her body, so she covered herself up as much as possible at the expense of her own comfort. This year, thing’s are different. She is ditching the large caftans, board shorts, and rash guards in favor of a bikini. She is not doing so to post pictures or make a statement. She just wants to be more comfortable at the beach.
