Normally, it pays to pack light, but you don’t want to be in the hospital after giving birth without important belongings. A recent post on BabyCenter blog highlights 7 things you will want to remember to pack in your hospital bag.
You may want to bring your own slipper socks because the ones hospitals provide tend to be scratchy. The same logic goes for bath towels—you want something soft and comfortable in a good size. You will also likely want nursing-friendly pajamas so you can feed your new baby comfortably. A pair of cheap shower sandals will go as far as they did in the bathroom of your dorm room.
You’ll want to have nursing pads with you during those early days when your milk comes in. Snacks are very important for the room because you will likely be hungry and hospital food isn’t all that great. Finally, bring a hair dryer. Hospital rooms tend to be chilly, so if you wash your hair, you will want to be able to blow it dry.
