Target has announced plans to get rid of gender designation signs in sections of the store including kids’ toys and bedding as a response to consumer requests. This started after a tweet from a mother who encountered signs for ‘Building Sets’ and ‘Girls Building Sets’ in the toy aisle. Target management hopes that doing away with gendered signage will help strike a better balance.
