Traveling with children can be both extremely fun and extremely stressful, with the endless “Are we there yet?” questions, short attention spans and disrupted sleep schedules. But getting on a plane with your little ones doesn’t have to be the maddening experience you might make it out to be in your head. This post from Parenting has some tips for flying with your kids, and how to keep them entertained on even the longest plane rides. Now, you (and all your fellow passengers) can get through the flight with some much-needed peace and quiet while your kids sit back, relax and enjoy the flight.
Try surprising your kids on the plane with a coloring book of their favorite cartoon character and a brand new box of crayons. The surprise factor will make it more exciting and keep them busy for even longer. Or bring along the supplies for an easy and mess-free craft, like making necklaces with paperclips and beads or Cheerios on a string. Or get really creative and set out to write your own children’s book with your kids. Have them dictate a story to you, and let them be the illustrator and read it back to them when it’s time to take a nap or go to sleep. For more fun airplane tips, keep reading.
