As parents, we’re all about making life easier on ourselves in any way that we can. Whether it’s seeking out time-saving tips for packing school lunches ahead of time or reading every blog and magazine article about potty training in a week or less, why make a difficult job any harder than it has to be? So, we were thrilled when we saw this post from Rookie Moms about how to make a kids’ Halloween costume out of comfy multi-use pajama sets.
We’ve never been a big fan of spending $50+ on a costume that our kids will outgrow in a year, but by making a costume out of pajamas you already have, or a cheap set from the department store, your kid can get good use out of that costume far beyond just trick or treating. Some stores sell Halloween costume/pajama sets pre-made, like the cute and comfy skeleton costume from Carter’s, but it’s also easy to make your own at home with your kids’ existing pajamas. If your child has a set of gray pajamas or sweats stashed away in a drawer somewhere, all you have to do is add some homemade ears to make a great mouse, elephant or bunny costume.
