Just because you’re pregnant doesn’t mean that the world shuts down around you. You still have to work, go shopping, run errands, and conduct yourself the way you normally would. It’s annoying, but you have to do it. But a little bit of help might be coming to pregnant women of New York, thanks to two local councilmen.
David Greenfield and Donovan Richards have introduced a bill that would allow parking permits to be made for mothers dealing with difficult pregnancies. It would also allow pregnant drivers to park places usually restricted with time constraints. Councilman Richards said, “Women in this situation deserve the courtesy of a permit allowing them to park closer to their destination, as long as they are medically qualified.”
This is the sort of measure that could benefit countless women countrywide, and make their days just a little bit easier. Somehow, this is actually the second attempt to pass the bill, as the first attempt was overwhelmingly opposed.
Well done Councilmen, and good luck.
