Newmarket, UK parents Emma and Andrew Lee learned a heartbreaking fact early in the pregnancy of their twins, Hope and Josh.
Hope was afflicted with anencephaly, a deadly disease that prevents complete development of the skull and brain.
Hope and Josh were born last week and sadly, Hope only lived for 78 minutes. But knowing this, Hope was able to become the youngest organ donor in UK history, allowing for other patients to survive. Andrew and Emma say this fact helps with the grief. Josh is alive and well, and I wish sympathies and best wishes to the mourning family.
