Lots of people believe in the rights to bear arms, and to an extent, they’re right. They do have the freedom. But there’s supposed to be a level of common sense, which, unfortunately, some people don’t always possess.
A hard lockdown went into effect for the Michigan based Lillian Fletcher Elementary School, when a parent arrived at the school with a holstered handgun. A school staff member spoke with the parent, who continued to insist that he had a right to have it to with him.
To a certain point, I understand. He feels safer with the gun on him, and if he had the license to carry it, there’s not much anyone can say to him. On the other hand, don’t bring a gun to a school full of children why would you do that. Especially in light of recent events, bringing a gun to a school is simply not a good idea.
