Traveling when you have children – especially younger ones – can be somewhat difficult. But not impossible, if you know what you’re doing. Karen with Rookie Moms has been seeing the world with her family, but hasn’t let them be bogged down with unnecessary gear.
“I have two young kids, but we are not really a stroller kind of family. We live on a very steep hill in busy San Francisco and there are lots of occasions when a stroller is just a pain to have around. With both kids, we have always favored a carrier so we can stay active and hands-free while avoiding lugging the stroller with us.
Our family also travels a lot- like multiple continents a year- and we do tend to bring a stroller with us for use in airports. But when we’re navigating the steps, stones, and stall-covered sidewalks of far-flung places, a stroller is often virtually impossible to use. That’s why I always bring a fabric baby carrier when I travel as well.”
So don’t let your smaller children keep you from seeing the world around you.
