About a month after Little Bugs 15 month visit, we had the evaluation with early intervention. The meeting consisted of the two ladies talking and playing with Little Bug while asking me questions about his interactions at home. Little Bug was engaging, as he always is, and despite this being a meeting about his lack of talking, he communicated in its small way. As a follow-up, if Little Bug is not talking by age two, we will need to go back to have another evaluation.
Key Takeaways:
- Little Bug was engaging, as he always is, and despite this being a meeting about his lack of talking, he communicated in his own little way. Rather than using actual words, Little Bug nods his head yes or no, he grunts, he points, and he uses two signs (more and milk)
- The speech therapist said that he was using some vowel and consonant sounds, but just wasn’t forming words yet.
- As a follow-up, if Little Bug is not talking by age two, we will need to go back to have another evaluation. I really don’t foresee that happening, but if it does, we will take it as it comes
“Little Bug recently had his 15 month check up. He’s growing right on track and hitting all of his physical milestones.”
