Breastfeeding is such an intimate, natural part of raising a child. It solidifies the bond between mother and baby, and it’s a beautiful experience. With so many children’s books out there, you’d think there would be many that feature it. Mothering.com asked its community for suggestions, and came up with this list of 25 books that feature breastfeeding in some way.
Some books focus on the subject of breastfeeding, such as Best Milk by Kate Carothers, Mama’s Milk by Michael Elsohn Ross, and Nursies When The Sun Shines by Katherine C. Havener which actually focuses on night weaning.
Other books have different stories to tell, but feature characters breastfeeding at some point in the story. Tucking in! Just Like Me! by Jess Stockham features a lamb drinking milk “just like me,” and All the World by Liz Garton Scanlon features a variety of attachment parenting themes including breastfeeding and babywearing.
