Having a baby is a life changing experience, there’s no doubt about it. Your role morphs from carefree woman to caring mother, and everyone else in your life has to adapt as well. Breastfeeding gives your baby the best nutrition, but it can also result in additional challenges when it comes to nurturing your relationship with your partner.

For a breastfeeding mother this idea simply isn’t realistic.
While it is possible to go on a trip with your hubby alone and leave your little one to be bottle-fed by Grandma, it might be more work and worry than it’s worth. Also it’s a nice idea to take turns taking care of baby in the wee hours of the morning, but ultimately you’re the one with the boobs so you’re going to be the one getting up and doing most of the feeding.
You and your partner may feel strange for a while, and that’s okay. If you focus on coming together and sharing in the experience, good and bad, everything will work out.
